Cardinals Not Picking Up Zaven Collins' Fifth-Year Option
Source: Arizona Sports - Tyler Drake
The Arizona Cardinals have chosen not to pick up defensive end Zaven Collins' fifth-year option, according to general manager Monti Ossenfort. With the move, Collins will be in the final year of his rookie deal in 2024 and will become a free agent next March. It's a surprising move after the 24-year-old former 16th overall pick has recorded 166 tackles (103 solo), 5.5 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, 10 QB hits, two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 12 passes defended, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 50 games (39 starts) in his three years in the NFL. Collins isn't exactly on the IDP fantasy radar as a defensive lineman because of his lack of sacks, but he should continue to be a starting edge defender for Arizona in 2024.Trey Benson Unlikely To Take Over As Lead Back
Trey Benson in the third round of this year's NFL draft, and it's unlikely that he will take over lead-back duties from James Conner this year, even though Conner hasn't shown that he's up to bell-cow duties in the NFL. Mainly because of injuries, Conner has posted between 200 and 250 touches in each of the last four seasons with the Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers, never playing in more than 15 games. Conner has been a pretty big injury risk for fantasy managers, but when he's been on the field, he's been impressive. The 28-year-old had 5.1 yards per touch in 2023. However, with Benson now in the fold, Arizona's backfield could easily evolve into a platoon situation that turns both Conner and Benson into solid RB2 candidates.Source: The Athletic - KC Joyner
The Arizona Cardinals took running back Cardinals Take Tip Reiman At No. 82
Tip Reiman with the No. 82 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He played four years at Illinois, totaling 420 yards and five touchdowns off 41 catches. While the 22-year-old has plenty of positive attributes, he wasn't as productive at the collegiate level as others in his class. With that said, Reiman will have a chance to carve out playing time in Arizona, a team in a transition phase. However, he'll need to compete for snaps with Trey McBride, one of the league's emerging tight ends.Source: NFL.com
The Cardinals selected University of Illinois tight end Cardinals Select Trey Benson With The 66th Pick
Trey Benson with the 66th overall pick in the NFL Draft. Benson could be the most complete running back in the draft class. He excelled at breaking tackles, setting the single-season FBS record by forcing 0.51 missed tackles per run. The 21-year-old also possesses great breakaway speed with 14 runs of 20 or more yards (ninth in FBS). Last season, Benson ran for 906 yards on the ground and 227 through the air and 15 total scores. He will join veteran James Connor, who could limit his fantasy value early on, but he should be an early second-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts.Source: NFL.com
The Arizona Cardinals selected Florida State running back Darius Robinson Goes To Cardinals At Pick No. 27
Source: NFL.com
The Arizona Cardinals selected Missouri defensive end Darius Robinson with the 27th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night. Robinson was a late bloomer for the Tigers in college and sometimes disappeared from games, but in the end, the pass-rusher was a first-team All-SEC performer as a fifth-year senior in 2023 after recording 8.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in 2023. Robinson weighed in at 285 pounds and has long arms and plenty of power to push his way to opposing quarterbacks. He's also serviceable in the run game and will compete for plenty of playing time right away in the desert in 2024 next to Zaven Collins and BJ Ojulari. Robinson is powerful but is going to need to develop his repertoire to have success in the NFL.Cardinals Stick At No. 4 And Draft Marvin Harrison Jr.
Marvin Harrison Jr. with the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night. With no other team trading up with the Cardinals to make it four straight quarterbacks in a row to start this year's draft, the Cardinals will give QB Kyler Murray a big-time new receiving weapon in Harrison. It makes sense after the team lost Marquise Brown this offseason. Harrison is an absolute stud at the position and should immediately be Arizona's best wideout in his rookie year alongside names like Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch and Chris Moore. Harrison was a unanimous two-time All-American and scored 28 total touchdowns the last two years. He's bigger than his father and has incredible body control. Harrison should be fantasy relevant in Year 1 while being peppered with targets by Murray.Source: NFL.com
The Arizona Cardinals selected Ohio State wide receiver Cardinals Hosting Xavier Worthy On Tuesday
Xavier Worthy on a visit on Tuesday. The speedster notably broke the NFL Combine record for the fastest 40-yard-dash (4.21) in February, making him a potential riser ahead of this month's NFL Draft. Arizona holds the No. 4 and No. 27 (via Houston) overall picks, and Worthy could be a potential target with their later selection. The 20-year-old posted 197 receptions for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns during his three seasons in college, including 981 yards and 12 scores as a true freshman. His slight frame (165 pounds) could be a concern for some NFL teams, but DeVonta Smith and Tank Dell have excelled in recent seasons, and he remains in the thick of the first-round discussion.Source: Ian Rapoport

Austin Johnson Visiting Cardinals On Friday
Source: Adam Schefter
Free-agent defensive lineman Austin Johnson is visiting with the Arizona Cardinals on Friday after wrapping up a visit with the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 29-year-old was a 2016 second-round pick by the Tennessee Titans and has also spent time with the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers. Through his first 116 NFL games, Johnson has accumulated 241 tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles, ten passes defended, and 15.5 run stuffs. He's far from a star at the position, but he will bring depth to wherever he ends up signing.Evan Brown Signing With Cardinals

Veteran free-agent center Evan Brown is signing a one-year, $2.9 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The former undrafted free agent out of the class of 2018 has 57 games (40 starts) of NFL experience and started 16 contests at center for the Seattle Seahawks last season. Brown gave up three sacks in 955 snaps in 2023. He figures to compete with Hjalte Froholdt for the starting center job in quarterback Cardinals May Be Willing To Trade Down In NFL Draft
Kirk Cousins to the Atlanta Falcons. The Washington Commanders (No. 2) and New England Patriots (No. 3) probably won't want to move all the way back to No. 11, miss out on a QB and likely be out of the mix for a top-tier receiver and left tackle. Arizona traded the No. 3 pick to the Texans just last year, and they are committed to QB Kyler Murray, which means they could welcome another trade down the board to accumulate more first-rounders as they attempt to acquire difference-makers around Murray on offense.Source: The Athletic - Jeff Howe
The Arizona Cardinals have been open for business at the No. 4 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft, and The Athletic's Jeff Howe speculates that they might be a match for a trade with the Minnesota Vikings, who are looking to trade up within the top-five picks for a new franchise quarterback after losing Chris Moore Joins Cardinals
Chris Moore to a one-year deal on Thursday. This move makes sense given the fact Arizona has let Marquise Brown walk and traded Rondale Moore. Although, there's not a ton of value here, but the veteran wideout is a low risk move for the Cardinals. His best season came with the Houston Texans during the 2022 season. He finished with 48 receptions, 548 yards, and two touchdowns during that season. It's unlikely that he does that again, but he might get a decent amount of reps if the Cardinals fail to add anyone else this offseason.Source: Mike Garafolo
