According to head coach Matt LaFleur, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) is officially questionable for the team's Week 9 contest against the Detroit Lions. Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reported the news. The fifth-year QB was knocked out of Week 8's 30-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars after halftime with a groin injury but appears to be recovering well. It's excellent news for Green Bay, as Love opened the week tagged with a DNP, but things are looking up regarding his status for Sunday's divisional clash against Detroit. Fantasy managers will want to monitor the 25-year-old, as Green Bay's game plan could be more run-centric in his absence. If the Utah State product can't suit up, it will again be quarterback Malik Willis calling signals for the Pack in what's sure to be an exciting Week 9 matchup.--Alex CiullaSource: Matt Schneidman

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday due to a groin injury. The 25-year-old second-year starter was banged up in the Week 8 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and did not finish out the contest. However, his availability on Thursday is a great sign of his potential to play in Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. Sunday's NFC North contest is crucial, so it would be somewhat surprising if he does not play. However, Malik Willis, who has looked good in relief of Love this year, would draw the start if Love can't go. The Lions have allowed the 14th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, so Love is a solid low-end QB1 option if he's cleared for Week 9.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBallerSource: Wes Hodkiewicz

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) is practicing on Thursday after missing Wednesday's session with an ankle injury. Hopefully, his Wednesday absence was precautionary and he'll be good to go for the Week 9 game against the Detroit Lions. Jacobs is the current RB9 in half-PPR formats, averaging 13.6 fantasy points per game behind 667 rushing yards, 115 receiving yards, and four total touchdowns. The Lions have surrendered the third-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs this season, but Jacobs remains a virtual must-start if he plays since he is averaging 20.3 touches per game (sixth-most). Emanuel Wilson is the clear RB2 in Green Bay, so he'd be a must-add ball-carrier if Jacobs suffers any setbacks and cannot play in the NFC North showdown.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBallerSource: Wes Hodkiewicz

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) missed Wednesday's practice due to a groin strain. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Love sees a "realistic chance" of suiting up on Sunday against the Detroit Lions despite missing practice on Wednesday. The 25-year-old exited last Sunday's 30-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars early with a groin strain and is labeled day-to-day. He has been terrific this season, throwing for 1,547 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions while rushing for 28 yards on 10 attempts over six games. Love will try to practice later in the week and look to play in a divisional battle against Detroit. Malik Willis would start for Green Bay if Love is inactive. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring Love's status heading into Week 9. Love is currently QB10 in the latest RotoBaller Week 9 rankings and is a must-start if active in a plus matchup against the Lions.--Brad Camara - RotoBallerSource: Adam Schefter of ESPN

The Green Bay Packers signed linebacker Jamin Davis on Tuesday. Davis is a former first-round pick by the Washington Commanders in 2021. He had fallen out of favor with the new Commanders regime in 2024 and was released prior to Week 8. Davis has been a quality player at times. If he can reclaim the form he exhibited earlier in his career, the Packers will have a nice addition to their linebacking corp. The Packers' defense has been one of the most formidable in the league in 2024. They have had a lot of success shutting down opposing quarterbacks and creating turnovers. Davis would likely help to shore up an already solid rushing defense as well. For fantasy purposes, look for this move to bolster the starting prospects of the Packers D/ST.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBallerSource: Ari Meirov

Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, there is optimism around Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love's (groin) status for this Sunday, and he is considered day-to-day. Love underwent an MRI on Monday, confirming he escaped Sunday's victory having avoided a long-term injury. It's excellent news for Green Bay, as the 25-year-old remained in Week 8's 30-27 win over the Jaguars even after initially tweaking his groin. Still, his status for Week 9 remains to be determined. Fantasy managers will want to monitor this situation, as the Packers' game plan could change with third-year QB Malik Willis under center -- particularly the potential for a more run-centric attack. Green Bay will host their division-rival Detroit Lions this Sunday -- one of the more staunch defensive units in the league.--Alex CiullaSource: Tom Pelissero

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) was forced to leave their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a groin injury and did not return. According to Ian Rapoport, the star QB seemed to avoid a major injury but his status for the Week 9 game against the Detroit Lions is "in doubt." The Packers go into their bye in Week 10, so they could play it safe to give him an extra week of rest before returning in Week 11. If that's the case Malik Willis would make another start against a strong Lions defense.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBallerSource: Ian Rapoport

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) exited Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He injured his groin early in the contest but managed to play through it. However, it eventually caused his premature departure from the contest. Of course, head coach Matt LaFleur expressed concern over the injury. But NFL Media's Tom Pelissero reported that the team is optimistic Love "avoided a long-term injury." He'll undergo further testing on Monday. But if he can't suit up against the Lions, Malik Willis will take over.--Dennis ClausenSource: Tom Pelissero

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson led the Packers in receptions as they edged the Jaguars in Jacksonville 30-27 in Week 8. Watson tied for the team lead in targets on the day with a six-target effort, bringing in a team-leading four receptions for 39 yards on the afternoon. All six of Watson's targets came with Jordan Love at quarterback, who left in the third quarter with a groin injury. Watson put forth a solid effort, but with the injury to Love and the bevy of pass-catchers involved each week in Green Bay, there's a lot of competition for targets and fantasy point-scoring opportunities. Watson is a boom-or-bust flex option for fantasy managers when the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9.--Kevin Tompkins - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was very quiet on the stat sheet until late in the Packers' 30-27 victory on the road in Jacksonville against the Jaguars. Reed only earned three targets, two receptions and 55 receiving yards on the afternoon, but no reception was bigger than late in the fourth quarter when Malik Willis found Reed on the sideline for the 51-yard catch and run to help set up Brandon McManus' game-winning field goal. It's been a quiet few weeks for Reed, as his target volume has fallen off week by week, but he's still a dynamic player that can hit in a big way for fantasy purposes. Against the Lions in Week 9, Reed is more of a mid-range WR2 with major upside for fantasy managers.--Kevin Tompkins - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs put up solid production in the Packers' 30-27 victory on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Doubs led the Packers' pass-catchers in targets (6) as he caught three of those for 72 yards. Jordan Love (groin) left the game early in the third quarter, leaving backup quarterback Malik Willis to orchestrate the offense. All of Doubs' targets came with Love in the game, as the Packers opted to employ a run-heavy approach for the rest of the game as Willis only had five pass attempts in the game. Doubs has been plenty involved in the offense as of late and that should continue as the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9. Consider Doubs and low-end WR3 option in fantasy if Love is able to play in Week 9.--Kevin Tompkins - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs had a huge day in the Packers' 30-27 victory on the road in Jacksonville against the Jaguars. Jacobs took 25 carries and turned them into 127 rushing yards and two touchdown scores on the afternoon. Kicking off the scoring on the day was Jacobs with a three-yard touchdown plunge early in the first quarter. Jacobs put the Packers in the lead at the end of the third quarter with a 38-yard score, his longest run of the season. He also added one reception for -2 yards on two targets. With Jacobs and the Packers hosting the NFC North-leading Detroit Lions in Week 9, Jacobs should be considered a low-end RB1 in fantasy for the matchup.--Kevin Tompkins - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) will undergo further testing on Monday. The signal-caller injured his groin in Sunday's win over the Jags, and he'd finish the day by throwing for 196 yards and a pick off 14-for-22 passing. Considering Love has battled an injury already this season, any more absences wouldn't be an ideal scenario for fantasy managers. With that in mind, if Love can't go for the NFC North clash with the Lions, Malik Willis would operate under center. Of course, Willis isn't nearly as reliable, so he'd be hard to trust from a fantasy standpoint.--Dennis ClausenSource: Charean Williams
