Just a few minutes into the first round, Magomedov had already landed a few heavy shots on the striker, one of which was a left hook which dropped Pereira. The turning point of the fight was when Dalby suffered a severe nose break early into the contest. Aliskerov was a massive betting favorite in this fight, even though he was coming off a knockout loss to former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker his last time out.
