In the fifth round, Prates unleashed multiple punches against Garry on the feet and on the ground, but with both fighters being fatigued, Machado Garry survived the late scare. Zhang Mingyang extended his win streak to 12 when he defeated former title challenger Anthony Smith in the co-main event of UFC Kansas City on Saturday. The turning point of the fight came when Mingyang landed a hard elbow that caused a deep cut on Smith's head. With blood pouring, Smith was fading fast, so he decided to shoot for a takedown.
