Zach Eflin (lat) traveled with the team to Minnesota and is set to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday. Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun noted that the southpaw's rehab start went well and that he is close to returning. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his bullpen session as this could potentially set him up to return to action this weekend. During his rehab start at High-A, Eflin logged four shutout innings. He allowed two hits and struck out four. Before his injury, Eflin held a solid 3.00 ERA with a stellar 0.83 WHIP. He struck out eight batters in 18 innings of work, but he showed strong command as he served up walks at a 1.5 percent rate. When he does return, he will be a viable SP3 in all formats, especially when looking to boost your team's WHIP.

Tyler O'Neill (neck) is set to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday. This is an excellent sign for the 29-year-old as he appears to be nearing a return to action. O'Neill has been sidelined since April 24 with neck soreness. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression as he could be cleared to return this weekend to begin a series against the Angels. Before his injury, O'Neill held a .215/.284/.385 slash line with three doubles, one triple, and two home runs across 18 contests. During this stretch, he generated an elite 17.4 percent barrel rate with a strong .506 xSLG. When he does return to action, he should continue to see an everyday role in right field. Given his power upside, he is worth holding on to in five-outfielder leagues.

Jackson Merrill (hamstring) off the 10-day injured list prior to their contest against the New York Yankees on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the Padres optioned backstop
Luis Campusano to Triple-A El Paso. The sophomore outfielder has been sidelined since April 6 with a right hamstring strain. Before his injury, the former top prospect was enjoying an impressive start to his second MLB season, holding a .378/.415/.676 slash line with three home runs and one stolen base. During his debut campaign in 2024, Merrill was the everyday center fielder and posted a solid .292/.326/.500 line with 24 home runs and 16 stolen bases. Fantasy managers should expect Merrill to remain a high-end OF2 given his five-category potential.

Sal Frelick (knee) remains out of the lineup on Tuesday but is hoping to return to action on Friday. According to Jack Stern of the Brewer Fanatic, the outfielder is feeling better and was able to do some light jogging and even took swings in the batter's cage. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status leading up to their contest on Friday evening against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 25-year-old suffered this injury during their contest against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Through his first 35 games of the season, Frelich has enjoyed a strong start, holding a .297/.381/.398 slash line with five doubles, two triples, and seven stolen bases. While he remains sidelined,

St. Louis Cardinals catcher
Ivan Herrera (knee) is scheduled to catch seven innings in a minor-league rehab game for Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday night, according to manager Oliver Marmol. Herrera is close to rejoining the Cardinals, and if his game at Memphis goes well on Tuesday, he could rejoin the team on their upcoming road trip, which begins on Friday in D.C. against the Washington Nationals. The 24-year-old has gone 6-for-14 with a home run and a double in his first four rehab starts for Memphis. Fantasy managers in need of catching help might want to add Herrera now if he's available on the waiver wire. When he returns to St. Louis, he'll be the club's primary catcher after starting the season on fire by going 8-for-21 with four home runs, 11 RBI and six runs scored in his first seven games. Herrera has been out since suffering a bone bruise on his left knee on April 6.

Tommy Edman (ankle) is unlikely to come off the injured list during this weekend's series in Arizona against the division-rival Diamondbacks, according to manager Dave Roberts. Henry Davis is catching and hitting ninth, while
Alexander Canario will start in left field and bat fifth against Cardinals left-hander
Matthew Liberatore. Although Bart has just one long ball on the season in 87 at-bats, he's done well as Pittsburgh's primary catcher with a strong .276 average (24-for-87) with seven RBI, seven runs and a stolen base. The 28-year-old will take a seat after starting the last four games. Pham could use a rest after going 2-for-18 of late as the team's primary left fielder. Canario is starting to see more playing time of late with Pham slumping, though. Davis has never faced Liberatore in his career, while Canario is hitless against him in just three at-bats.

James Outman was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday and is making his 2025 MLB debut on Tuesday against the hosting Miami Marlins, starting in center field and batting eighth against Marlins right-hander

Teoscar Hernandez (groin), who landed on the 10-day injured list. With
Tommy Edman (ankle) also on the shelf for L.A., Outman could play regularly for the Dodgers, at least against right-handed pitchers. Before joining the Dodgers for the first time this year, Outman was swinging it well with a .254/.322/.508 with an .830 OPS, eight home runs, 27 RBI and five stolen bases in 32 games with OKC. The former seventh-rounder only hit .147 (20-for-136) with 55 K's in 156 trips to the plate in 2024, but he's at least worth a short-term look as outfield depth in NL-only leagues.

This will be Betts' first game on the bench since March 29 after he was still building up his strength that caused him to miss the club's two-game season-opening series in Tokyo, Japan, against the Chicago Cubs. The 32-year-old eight-time All-Star and former MVP cooled off a bit after a hot start, but he's gone 12-for-33 (.364) with a homer, double, triple, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored in his last eight games since April 27. Betts continues to be a must-start in L.A.'s dangerous lineup when he's on the field. Rojas is a low-upside DFS play at shortstop and is hitting .400 in just five career at-bats against Quantrill.

Teoscar Hernandez (groin) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a Grade 1 left-adductor strain, according to manager Dave Roberts. The Dodgers initially called Hernandez's injury hamstring tightness when he was pulled from Monday's series opener against the Miami Marlins. It remains to be seen when the 32-year-old slugger will return to the Dodgers, but it's good news that his groin strain wasn't all that severe. Fantasy managers should obviously be stashing Hernandez, who entered Tuesday's play as the MLB leader with 34 RBI in 33 games played. The Dodgers called up outfielder

Landon Knack has joined the team in Miami. Currently, the Dodgers do not have a listed starter for Wednesday's contest, which could open the door for Knack to get the spot-start. The 27-year-old has logged eight 2/3 innings of work this season for the Dodgers. He has appeared in three games and started two. Through this stint, he has held a 7.27 ERA with a 1.73 WHIP. Last summer, Knack made his MLB debut and performed well, holding a 3.65 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP. He struck out 69 batters in 69 innings while posting a strong 6.3 percent walk rate. At Triple-A this season, Knack has held a similar 3.98 ERA across 20 1/3 innings. If he does get the starting nod, he is best to fade in DFS competitions as he has only exceeded three innings of work in one appearance this season.

The 36-year-old has been sidelined due to a calf strain but has also been dealing with a hip injury. LeMahieu has appeared in six rehab games with Double-A Somerset and held an impressive .438/.500/.688 slash line. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his progress with Triple-A as he could be cleared to make his regular-season debut later this week. Last season, LeMahieu was limited by injuries, too, and appeared in just 67 contests. During this brief stint, he struggled and held a .204/.269/.259 with just two long balls. Leody Taveras off waivers from the Texas Rangers. In a corresponding move, the Mariners have designated right-handed pitcher
Luis F. Castillo. The Rangers placed Taveras on outright waivers earlier this week. Fantasy managers should expect the 26-year-old to serve as a depth option in the Seattle outfield. Through the opening month of the 2025 campaign, Taveras has struggled as he has posted a .241/.259/.342 slash line with one home run and six stolen bases. Under the hood, he has generated a low .201 xwOBA and a .198 xBA. However, in 2024, Taveras showed flashes of upside at times as he hit 12 home runs and swiped 23 bags. Fantasy managers in 15+ team category formats should monitor his status as he could be a viable target for stolen bases if he sees consistent playing time.
