The Green Bay Packers have chosen Texas Longhorn wide receiver Matthew Golden at No. 23 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. In a wild turn of events, the Pack selected their first first-round wideout since 2002. Golden didn't post gaudy numbers during his collegiate years. Still, he boasts blazing speed set to torment any NFL defense -- famously out-running former Texas teammate Isaiah Bond at the combine with a blistering 4.29 40-yard dash. He'll enter a loaded WR corps in Green Bay, joining incumbent starters Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and solid rotational piece Dontayvion Wicks. Golden's avenue to playing time appears murky at this time, considering most of his playing time came from the slot, where Reed would typically occupy. However, he possesses game-altering speed that will make it difficult to keep him off the field.--Alex CiullaSource: Green Bay Packers

The Houston Texans have traded the No. 25 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the New York Giants in exchange for the 34th pick, 99th pick, and a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. In the second blockbuster move of the night, the Giants moved up in the first round to take Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.--Brad Camara - RotoBallerSource: Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network

The Los Angeles Chargers have selected former North Carolina Tar Heel running back Omarion Hampton with the No. 22 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hampton was the consensus second-ranked RB in this class, and he'll enterread more...

The Pittsburgh Steelers have chosen Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon with the No. 21 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. Harmon spent his first three collegiate seasons at Michigan State, but did his best work in his senior season with the Ducks. The 6-foot-4 defensive lineman racked up 45 tackles (27 solo) with five sacks, 11 tackles-for-loss, four pass break-ups, and two fumbles forced and recovered. He'll slot into a formidable Steelers defensive front alongside veterans Cameron Heyward, T.J. Watt, and Alex Highsmith, who were surprisingly middling in the sack department last season (40). The disruptive Harmon should fit nicely in that group with his upfield style, locking down the middle of Pittsburgh's defensive line while Highsmith and Watt wreak havoc off the edge.--Alex CiullaSource: Jordan Schultz

The Broncos added to their defensive secondary by selecting cornerback Jahdae Barron out of Texas with the No. 20 pick in the NFL Draft. Barron won the 2025 Thorpe Award Winner for the best defensive back in the country after snagging five interceptions and not allowing a touchdown all season. He added 67 tackles, 11 pass deflections, and one sack, showing off versatility that should make him successful at the NFL level. Barron will join Patrick Surtain II to give the Broncos one of the best defensive backfields in the league. Some Broncos fans may be disappointed that the team didn't go with an offensive playmaker, but they added a player who should be a very valuable contributor right away on defense.--Zach Thompson - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added another outstanding wide receiver to their pass-catching corps by taking Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka with the 19th pick in the draft. Egbuka is the latest in a line of five straight OSU wide receivers selected in the first round, following the footsteps of Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Marvin Harrison Jr. Egbuka hauled in 81 catches for 1,011 yards this last season and scored 10 touchdowns for the Buckeyes. He'll join a crowded receiver room with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and last year's rookie Jalen McMillan, but he has the talent and experience to be an immediate contributor for QB Baker Mayfield as the Bucs look to repeat as NFC South champions for a fifth straight season.--Zach Thompson - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

The Seahawks opted to fortify their front line with the addition of offensive guard Grey Zabel from North Dakota State at the No. 18 spot in the 2025 NFL Draft. Zabel becomes the highest drafted offensive lineman in FCS history. The 23-year-old Zabel is extremely versatile, with the potential to play all five positions on the offensive line. He will likely settle in the interior and provide excellent protection for new Seahawks' QB Sam Darnold this season. Zabel was widely considered one of the safest picks on the board with a high floor due to his versatility.--Zach Thompson - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

The Bengals added Texas A&M edge rusher Shemar Stewart to their defense with the No. 17 pick in the first round on Wednesday night. Stewart only had 4.5 sacks in his 37 college games, along with 65 combined tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and one forced fumble. However, he vaulted up draft boards with an impressive showing at the NFL Combine. He posted a perfect Relative Athletic Score (RAS) score and ranked near the top of the class in almost every physical measurement. The Bengals will now need to coach Stewart up to realize the most impact for his raw physical talent and develop him into a key part of their defense.--Zach Thompson - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

After turning the NFL Draft upside down in 2024, there was no such drama from the Atlanta Falcons in 2025 as they took Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker at No. 15 overall. The first linebacker off the board, the former Bulldog likely ended up this high in the draft due to hybrid potential within a defense. At 6-foot-1 and 243 pounds, he's fast enough to be an edge rusher, but cerebral enough to snuff out running plays as an inside linebacker. Atlanta was largely expected to fortify its defense in the first round, and did just that with Walker. The rest of the Falcons' draft could be tougher to predict with quarterback Michael Penix Jr. cemented as the clear starter, but Kirk Cousins still on the roster as an obvious trade candidate.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

The Arizona Cardinals looked to solidify their defense with their first-round pick on Thursday night, taking Walter Nolen, a defensive tackle from Ole Miss at No. 16 overall. Nolen was a first-team AP All-American after setting a career high with 14.0 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in 2024. He was a finalist for the 2024 Outland Trophy after starting all 13 games last season for the Rebels. Nolen becomes the latest part of a major pass-rush overhaul in Arizona this offseason. The team already brought in Josh Sweat and Dalvin Tomlinson as free agents and also brought back Calais Campbell to anchor the defensive line. The Cardinals' pass rush should be much improved in 2025, and they'll hope Nolen will be a big part of it for years to come.--Zach Thompson - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

Penn State tight end Tyler Warren, who was on the short list of best players in college football last season, become the newest Indianapolis Colts player after the franchise selected him at No. 14 in the 2025 NFL Draft. Surprisingly, the former Nittany Lion was not the first tight end selected after Chicago took Michigan's Colston Loveland at No. 10. Warren was a monster in 2024, catching 104 passes for more than 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns as Penn State advanced the College Football Playoff semifinal. The Colts were consistently linked to tight ends in general and Warren specifically, and in the end, they got their man by hanging tight at No. 14. Now they'll hope for something resembling passing quarterback play between the combination of Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

The Miami Dolphins opted for defense in the first round by taking Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant at No. 13 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Some NFL talent evaluators thought Grant was as good if not better than Mason Graham, who went fifth overall to Cleveland, and in the end, the pair went only eight picks apart. Grant was a devastating run defender who helped Michigan to the 2023 national title, and now figures to fill a void in Miami left behind by the departure of Christian Wilkins in 2024. The Michigan Man was projected much later in some mock drafts, so Miami will be betting big on its evaluation here.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

In one of the few surprises of the early portion of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected Alabama guard Tyler Booker at No. 12 overall. The Cowboys were widely believed to be in the market for a wide receiver to play next CeeDee Lamb, but instead chose to the take the first guard off the board. Booker is a massive man at 6-foot-5 and 321 pounds, and proved to be a complete interior lineman during his time at Alabama. For a team that really struggled in the run game in 2024, the 'Bama product is a Day One starter who should make the Cowboys' line better. Some certainly will feel this was a reach, but after losing Zack Martin to retirement, it was clearly a position the Cowboys didn't want to wait to address.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

The San Francisco 49ers wasted no time calling in the 11th pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams. The former five-star recruit managed only 14 sacks in three years in Athens, but played through an ankle injury during the 2024 season. At 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, Williams has the look of a dominant edge rusher, and now the 49ers will try their best to turn his acumen into production at the NFL level. No team lost more to free agency than San Francisco, which will now will try to rebuild its roster with 11 picks in this year's draft. Williams figures to be an important first step into re-tooling its defense.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
