According to Michael Scotto of USA Today, the Toronto Raptors waived center Colin Castleton on Monday. Castleton posted averages of 7.2 points and 6.9 rebounds in 26 minutes across 11 contests in 2024-25. With the 25-year-old out of the picture, there will be available frontcourt minutes for players like Jonathan Mogbo and Sandro Mamukelashvili to compete for. Rookie Collin Murray-Boyles, selected by the Raptors No. 9 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft last month, will also be in line to see more playing opportunities with Castleton no longer on the team's roster.--Andrew Lennox

Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the team. Both sides began discussions on a new deal near the end of the 2024 campaign. Since then, the 60-year-old received interest from the New York Knicks to replace Tom Thibodeau, who was fired in June. However, despite Donovan's losing record with the Bulls (195-205) since his arrival in 2020, the organization declined the Knicks' request to interview him, with the intent of keeping him in Chicago for years to come. The franchise is looking to make some changes to the roster moving forward, although the first move that needs to be made is a new contract for Josh Giddey, who is a restricted free agent.--Dennis Clausen

The Philadelphia 76ers waived guard Ricky Council IV. He spent the last two seasons with the Sixers, appearing in 105 regular-season contests. While the 23-year-old wasn't productive for the most part, he showed signs of promise by averaging 12.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 12 starts last season. There's a good chance Council will get signed by another team entering the 2025 campaign. However, he has a long way to go before earning a spot on most fantasy rosters, although he could gain streaming potential at some point during the year.--Dennis Clausen

According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors "haven't gained any traction" regarding a sign-and-trade deal involving forward Jonathan Kuminga. The 22-year-old has spent his entire career with the Dubs, averaging 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 258 regular-season games. He is currently a restricted free agent. However, with most teams unable to make moves due to limited cap space, the situation remains at a standstill. Without question, Kuminga has value, but clubs around the National Basketball Association may wait before looking in his direction, especially if he becomes an unrestricted free agent next offseason. If he stays in Golden State, he may have trouble finding consistent minutes. On the other hand, Kuminga could benefit significantly by getting a fresh start elsewhere. With that in mind, his fantasy outlook can go in different directions depending on where he ends up entering the 2025 campaign, although his shooting numbers must improve no matter where he goes.--Dennis Clausen

According to Michael Scotto of USA Today, the Indiana Pacers and 23-year-old guard Taelon Peter have agreed to a two-way deal on Thursday. Peter was drafted with the No. 54 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft in June after averaging 13.7 points on 57.8 percent shooting from the field and 45.3 percent from beyond the arc last season at Liberty University. During Summer League action in Las Vegas, he posted of averages of 9.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest across four games.--Andrew Lennox

Power forward Enrique Freeman has become an unrestricted free agent after the Indiana Pacers withdrew their two-way qualifying offer. Freeman suited up only 22 times for the Pacers, who selected him 50th in the 2024 draft. The Cleveland-born forward, who will be 25 next week, averaged 2.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 8.2 minutes. While this is a setback for Freeman, he may still generate interest among NBA teams after putting up good numbers in this year's Summer League. He averaged 16.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks in Las Vegas.--Taavi Pailk

Point guard Jared Butler has signed a one-year contract with the Phoenix Suns. The 24-year-old joins his fifth NBA team after the Philadelphia 76ers declined to pick up a $2.3 million team option on Butler's contract for the 2025-26 season. Butler moved to Philadelphia in February in a trade with the Washington Wizards and had a great time on an injury-ravaged team, averaging 11.5 points, 4.9 assists, and 1.1 steals in 24.4 minutes. Although it's unlikely he will reach the same productivity in Phoenix, Butler could carve out a decent role in the rotation as a backup playmaker behind Devin Booker and Jalen Green.--Taavi Pailk

Guard/forward Antonio Reeves has signed a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets for the 2025-26 NBA season. Reeves had his debut campaign with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2024-25, but the team waived him earlier this month. Despite that, Reeves still played for the Pelicans in the Summer League, where he made a strong impression, averaging 14.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 20.6 minutes. With Charlotte's roster lacking depth, Reeves could be back on NBA courts very soon. Last season, he notched 6.9 points in 15.0 minutes on 39.5 percent three-point shooting with the Pelicans.--Taavi Pailk

The Phoenix Suns have claimed guard Jordan Goodwin off waivers. The 26-year-old was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. Goodwin appeared 29 times for the Lakers last season, averaging 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 18.7 minutes, with 38.2 percent shooting from three-point range. This will be his second rodeo with the Suns, having opened the 2023-24 campaign in Arizona. Throughout his NBA career, Goodwin has averaged 6.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in 150 contests. He's a reliable bench player but doesn't impact fantasy basketball.--Taavi Pailk

Guard/forward Colby Jones has linked up with the Detroit Pistons on a two-way contract for the 2025-26 season. Jones had a nice 15-game spell with the Washington Wizards late last season, averaging 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 steals in 25.7 minutes. Yet, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in June and was waived, becoming an unrestricted free agent. Jones started his NBA career in 2023 with the Sacramento Kings after being the 34th pick in the draft. Over 69 career games, he has averaged only 10.2 minutes a night, and Jones must be patient to get his opportunity in Motown as well.--Taavi Pailk

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo intends to play for Greece in EuroBasket 2025, according to NBA reporter Marc Stein. With questions surrounding the 30-year-old's future in Milwaukee beginning to cool, Antetokounmpo is set to lead a strong Greek squad into a challenging opener against Italy on August 28. The path to a EuroBasket title won't be easy, as he'll face top-tier competition, including NBA stars Luka Doncic (Slovenia) and Kristaps Porzingis (Latvia). Serbian big man Nikola Jokic has not yet committed to playing, though Stein noted Wednesday that a decision is expected soon.--Andrew Lennox

On Wednesday, the Orlando Magic waived guard Ethan Thompson. He had agreed to a two-year, two-way contract with the Magic last February. Releasing the Oregon State product now provides Orlando with one of its two-way roster spots open for center Orlando Robinson. Thompson, who has yet to make his NBA debut, was with the Magic's G League affiliate in Osceola during the 2024-25 season. The 26-year-old averaged 17.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 three-pointers, 3.0 assists, and 1.2 steals in 33.5 minutes per game in over 47 outings.--Andrew Lennox

Shams Charania of ESPN reports that free agent guard Lindy Waters III has agreed to a one-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Waters has spent parts of four seasons in the NBA, shooting 36.6 percent from beyond the arc across 156 regular-season games. Last campaign, he averaged 4.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 52 contests with Detroit and Golden State. The 27-year-old will likely see a limited role in the Spurs rotation during the upcoming season.--Andrew Lennox

Forward Vlatko Cancar will head back to Europe for the 2025-26 season, having signed a multi-year contract with Olimpia Milano. Cancar played in Spain before being signed by the Denver Nuggets in 2019. He spent his entire NBA career with the Nuggets, winning the championship in 2023. However, Cancar struggled to make an impact in the league, appearing in only 143 games over six years. He missed the 2023-24 season due to a left ACL tear and was limited to 13 appearances in 2024-25 after suffering another knee injury. The 28-year-old Slovenian averaged 3.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10.7 minutes during his NBA career.--Taavi Pailk

Forward Lamar Stevens has decided to pause his NBA career by signing a one-year contract with Paris Basketball. The Penn State product has played in 220 NBA games, starting his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He has also appeared with the Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies. In 2024-25, Stevens averaged 4.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 9.1 minutes with the Grizzlies, who picked him up in February. Overall, he has posted 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.2 minutes per game during his NBA career. Although Stevens has faced difficulties securing a spot in the National Basketball Association in recent years, he might still have a chance to return to the league after turning only 28 this month.--Taavi Pailk
