Padres Reach Deal With Ha-seong Kim
4 years agoThe San Diego Padres reached an agreement with Korean star infielder Ha-seong Kim on Monday, according to multiple reports. The 25-year-old was one of the top infielders on the open market when he was posted earlier this month by the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization. Kim primarily played shortstop and third base in the KBO, but it's unclear where he'll play in San Diego with Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado entrenched at shortstop and third base, respectively, for years to come. Kim hit .306 with 30 home runs, 109 RBI, 111 runs scored and 23 stolen bases in 2020 and should at least be a very useful utility infielder for the Friars next season.
