Orioles Willing to Discuss Trading More Relievers
Bryan Baker to the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday, the Baltimore Orioles are willing to discuss dealing more relievers in advance of the July 31 trade deadline. Right-handers Andrew Kittredge and Seranthony Dominguez and lefty Gregory Soto are among those who could be up for bidding, Andy Martino of SNY reports. Kittredge signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Orioles in free agency, but he missed all of April and most of May after undergoing knee surgery. Since then, the 35-year-old has logged a 3.57 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP and 22 strikeouts against six walks in 22 2/3 innings. Dominguez, who's on an $8 million salary and due to hit free agency after the season, has pitched to a strong 3.13 ERA with 51:22 K:BB and 12 holds over 37 1/3 innings. Also set to become a free agent at the end of the season, Soto is on a $5.35 million salary. The 30-year-old owns a 3.78 ERA with 40:15 K:BB and an impressive 18 holds across 33 1/3 frames. Any of those three could help a contending team bolster the back end of its bullpen down the stretch.
