Nick Kurtz Hits First MLB Home Run
Nick Kurtz went 2-for-5 with his first MLB home run during their victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday evening. Kurtz went deep in the eighth inning with a solo shot. This was a much-needed breakout game for the top prospect as he has yet to find his power swing at the MLB level. Entering Tuesday, Kurtz held a solid .269 AVG through his first 16 MLB games. However, during this stretch, he posted a low .327 SLG with a .649 OPS. He tallied just five RBI and held a 23:5 K:BB. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as the A's may continue to limit his opportunities, given his slow start. However, he may have begun to turn the corner. Given his power upside, he should continue to be rostered in all 12+ team formats. He will look to stay hot on Wednesday, facing Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
