Nick Castellanos 2024 Player Outlook: Power And Production Supporting ADP
Nick Castellanos enjoyed a bounce-back season in 2023 and continues to be a middle-of-the-lineup menace. His 2022 season saw him hit just 13 home runs in 138 games while his isolated power dipped all the way to just .126, by far a career-low. However, he returned in 2023 to slug 29 home runs while adding another 37 doubles and a pair of triples to his ledger, good for a .204 ISO that was right in line with his .199 career mark. His walk rates continue to flounder (5.4% in 2023) but the 31-year-old drove in a career-high 106 runs a season ago, the second time in three years he has reached the century mark in RBI. His off-and-on trend over the last four seasons is a concern and his .323 xwOBA ranked in the league's 42nd percentile last season. However, he has a top supporting cast that will yield plenty of run-scoring and run-producing opportunities again in 2023. He isn't likely worth a top-100 pick like many of his Phillies teammates but Castellanos' 103.58 ADP is right in line with RotoBaller's 105 ranking, giving him fair value on draft day.
