5 years agoThe Washington Nationals selected Monsignor Edward Pace High School shortstop Samuel Infante with the 71st overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. There isn't one specific tool that stands out with Infante, but he was making harder contact at the plate and driving the ball last summer after having contact issues in the past. There's also some raw power that he hopes to tap into as he matures. Infante is just an average runner, and the jury is out on whether he can remain at shortstop at the next level. Some scouts have compared him to Maikel Franco, but it'll be interesting to see if the Nationals can get him out of his commitment to Miami.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
