Mike Zunino's Nine Home Runs Tied For Third Among Catchers
7 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino popped his ninth home run Tuesday night as the Mariners rolled the Astros 7-1. The 429-foot blast blew the game wide open, putting the score at 6-0, and he now is 6-for-17 over his last six games. Zunino is a streaky, grip-it-and-rip-it power specialist who currently is swinging better over the past week. His nine home runs are now tied for third among all catchers in baseball, but his power makes him somewhat attractive from a fantasy perspective. He will strike out a ton (56 times in 133 at-bats), but Zunino can change the course of a game with one swing, making him an above-average choice at catcher in fantasy.
