Mike Trout Faces Live Pitching, Could Return Any Day
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (wrist) faced live pitching on the team's off day on Thursday. Trout isn't ready to return from the injured list on Friday, but it sounds as though he could return to the team any day now. The 32-year-old three-time MVP and perennial All-Star is trying to return for the first time since fracturing his left hamate bone in early July on a hit by pitch. The Angels don't want to rush him back too soon, but they're also running out of time to make a big push for a wild-card spot in the American League. Trout could see more rest days than usual upon his return, but he's always a must-start in fantasy lineups when he's on the field. He'll be returning to a .263/.369/.493 slash line with an .862 OPS, 18 home runs, 14 doubles, a triple, 44 RBI and 54 runs scored in 358 plate appearances (81 games).
