Mike Trout 2019 Outlook: Still The Cream Of The Crop
6 years agoIt's not hard to predict that Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout will once again be one of the top overall fantasy players in 2019. The 27-year-old phenom should be in play with the number one fantasy pick in 2019 drafts after he slashed .312/.460/.628 with 39 home runs, 101 runs scored, 79 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 140 games. The reason why he's so good? He contributes in all fantasy offensive categories and still has 30-homer, 30-steal potential as well as excellent patience (career-high 20.1 percent walk rate) that gives him a safe floor as far as on-base percentage goes. Although he was limited to 114 games due to injuries in 2017, Trout has also been pretty reliable in the health department as well. He's expected to hit mostly second for the Halos in 2019 and while that may limit his RBI chances, it could also mean more runs scored and more at-bats in the long run. Trout is still in his prime physically and while the lineup around him could certainly be stronger, he will go into next year as the number one ranked fantasy player by RotoBaller. He'll go first overall in most leagues and is unlikely to make it past the third pick.
