Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Mike Matheson (lower body) has been ruled out of the team's season opener on Tuesday. According to head coach Mike Sullivan, it's a nagging issue, so the 27-year-old likely won't miss a lot of action but it's still a blow for the team with multiple players already sidelined. Sidney Crosby (wrist), Evgeni Malkin (knee), Zach Aston-Reese (COVID-19) and Jake Guentzel (COVID-19) are all not ready to play. Matheson had a 16-point campaign in 44 games last season, logging 18:38 a night. His status will be day-to-day for now, with his next chance to feature coming on Thursday against Florida.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerRead More News
