While the specifics of New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes’ thumb injury are still somewhat uncertain, we now know that the team received “good news” on the issue. Apparently, Cespedes could even return sooner than originally anticipated. That may not end up being that big a deal, because Cespedes said he’s dealt with this injury prior and would only miss three games. If that’s truly the case, he could be back on Wednesday or Thursday. Still, Cespedes has been showing more signs of life at the plate and any missed time would do a player harm when they’re starting to get on a roll.
