Matthew Stafford Not Planning To Retire
2 years agoLos Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (neck, spine) said he doesn't plan on retiring after the 2022 season. Stafford's season is over after being diagnosed with a spinal-cord contusion, but he won't need surgery and is hoping to be ready to play next season. The 34-year-old signed a four-year contract extension with the Rams in the offseason after winning the Super Bowl in 2021. He's one of the toughest QBs in the NFL, but his 2022 was extremely disappointing, as he only managed to play in nine games while throwing for 2,087 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Stafford could easily bounce back into QB1 territory in 2023, but his health will be a major concern for fantasy managers. Baker Mayfield is expected to start the team's final three games this year.
