Toronto Maple Leafs left wing Matthew Knies saw Thursday's Game 2 against Florida end early for him after he suffered an undisclosed injury on a hit by Panthers forward Sam Bennett. The incident occurred in the middle of the first frame and Knies initially stayed in the game, but the team ruled him out early in the second. Knies ended up playing for only 4:47. Toronto head coach Sheldon Keefe noted after the game that Knies' condition was "not positive". A severe injury would be a bitter blow for Knies, who made his NHL debut late in the regular season and who had worked his way all the way up to the first line in the playoffs. Knies was riding a three-game point streak prior to Thursday night, and he boasts one goal and three assists in total for the postseason.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
