Mason Taylor's Role Caps Week 3 Fantasy Appeal
Mason Taylor cannot be trusted for fantasy purposes this weekend when his team squares off with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road. The 21-year-old was able to suit up in Week 2 despite being hampered by an ankle injury earlier in the week. He again made minimal impact, having accrued just three targets (2/25) through his first two professional contests. New York touted the young tight end during the offseason, but he hasn't had an opportunity to get going. Undoubtedly, some of the blame falls on the LSU product, but gaining traction as a tertiary pass-catcher in a run-centric offense is a tall task - particularly for a rookie. Taylor stands to eventually boast a more significant volume of touches, in part due to his own talent and the lack thereof around him. Until then, he won't be a recommended option for fantasy. He's RotoBaller's PPR TE33 this week.
