Marshon Lattimore Considered Week-To-Week
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore (thumb) suffered a thumb injury in the Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers and will need surgery to fix it, according to a source. Lattimore is now considered week-to-week after signing a new five-year, $97.6 million extension with the Saints on Sunday. But the 25-year-old's injury is some bad news in an otherwise great day for New Orleans to kick off the 2021 campaign. The Saints secondary was surprisingly able to completely shut down MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but losing Lattimore, their top cornerback, for any amount of time is notable. Veteran Desmond Trufant will need to step up as the team's top corner with Lattimore likely to miss at least some time. That will be an upgrade for Robby Anderson and the Carolina Panthers in Week 2.
