Marquise Goodwin Interested In 2020 Olympics
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin said he is interested in competing in the 2020 summer Olympics in the long jump. He finished 10th in the long jump at the 2012 Olympics but hasn't competed in track since 2016 when he failed to qualify for the Olympics for a second time. He said he was "100 percent committed to giving it another shot next summer. The Olympic Trials are next June when the Niners will be taking a break before training camp. However, he'd miss part of training camp if he qualifies for the Tokyo Games next year. Goodwin was a popular breakout candidate in 2018 but failed to deliver on those expectations, catching 23 passes for 395 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games while dealing with injuries. He's one of the fastest receivers in the NFL and could bounce back, although he's much more attractive in standard-scoring leagues as a home run threat.
