New Orleans Saints free safety Marcus Williams is a candidate to receive the franchise tag for the second straight season with the Saints in rough salary cap shape in 2022. Williams played well on the tag in 2021 and is an important part of the team's secondary. Left tackle Terron Armstead is not a candidate for the tag because his contract makes him ineligible for it since he doesn't become a free agent until after the end of the 2021 league year on March 16. The 25-year-old Williams registered 74 tackles, eight passes defensed, two interceptions and one forced fumble in 16 games last year. He's not much of a fantasy name in IDP leagues, but Williams has become one of the better free safeties in the NFL.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
