Marcus Stroman Takes Hard Luck Loss Thursday
Marcus Stroman went seven strong innings against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing just two earned runs, four hits, and one walk in the Mets 2-0 loss. Stroman tied his season-high with eight strikeouts as well. Despite the excellent start, Stroman was outdueled by Kyle Hendricks, dropping his record to 6-5 on the season. Despite the somewhat underwhelming record, Stroman has had an incredible start to the 2021 campaign posting a 2.35 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, with 75 strikeouts in 84 1/3 innings pitched. With Thursday's performance, Stroman has also now posted six consecutive quality starts dating back to May 21. Stroman remains a consistent, valuable starting pitcher in all fantasy formats. Managers should keep Stroman active for his next start on Tuesday at home against the Braves, a team he has not yet faced this season.
