Marcell Ozuna Released From Jail
4 years agoAtlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was released from jail after he posted $20,000 bond on Monday on charges of aggravated assault by strangulation and battery against his wife. Ozuna was jailed on Saturday after police officers witnessed him attacking his wife while responding to a 911 call. Already on the injured list and expected to be out for more than a month with two dislocated fingers on his left hand, Ozuna could face a long suspension from Major League Baseball. The league plans to review the matter under the domestic-violence policy. The 30-year-old was hitting just .213/.288/.356 with seven home runs and 26 RBI in 48 games (208 plate appearances) before his injury. He hit .338 and led the National League with 18 home runs and 56 RBI in the shortened 2020 season.
