Luke Voit Undergoes Surgery
5 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit (hernia) had surgery to repair core-muscle injuries, according to general manager Brian Cashman. Voit was having a fantastic year in pinstripes before a hernia knocked him out for most of August. The 28-year-old slugger finished the year hitting .263/.378/.464 with a career-high 21 home runs and 62 RBI in 118 contests for the Yanks. His power is intriguing for fantasy owners in a stacked lineup, but it remains to be seen how much playing time he'll get in 2020. The Yankees have other options in DJ LeMahieu and Greg Bird if he can stay healthy.
