Luis Robert Jr. Still Absent Thursday
Luis Robert Jr. is out of the team's lineup for their series finale against the visiting Detroit Tigers. Michael A. Taylor is again holding down center field and batting eighth. On Tuesday, White Sox manager Will Venable reported that the Cuban native would not start for a few days as he worked through some mechanical issues. Robert Jr. is amid a brutal 1-for-20 stretch over his last seven games -- with ten strikeouts -- and is slashing a dismal .177/.266/.286 through 55 appearances on the season. Despite the slump, he's second in the MLB with 21 steals and holds a .231 xBA. Though it's been bad, it appears much worse on the surface. It's worth mentioning that Venable noted Robert Jr. has been dealing with some knee soreness, but he doesn't think it has been limiting him in any way.
