Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (knee) will undergo surgery this Thursday to fix the torn ACL in his knee, according to Francys Romero. Gurriel is expected to be facing a nine- to 10-month recovery, which means he's not going to be ready for the start of the 2026 campaign. Depending on how his rehab goes, the 31-year-old veteran might be able to return just before the All-Star break in mid-July next year. He injured his knee back on Sept. 2 while trying to avoid a collision in the left-center gap with Blaze Alexander and had to be carted off the field. The Cuban outfielder was once again a solid source of power in 2025 in his third year in the desert before getting hurt, slashing .248/.295/.418 but with a career-low .713 OPS, 19 homers, 80 RBI, a career-high 10 steals, and 52 runs in 129 games played. Jake McCarthy should see most of the starts in left in Arizona the rest of the way.--Keith Hernandez
