Kyle Schwarber Heads To 10-Day Injured List With Groin Injury
6 months agoThe Philadelphia Phillies placed outfielder/designated hitter Kyle Schwarber (groin) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a mild left-groin strain. Schwarber could spend the minimum 10 days on the IL, which is great news for the Phillies, especially considering first baseman Bryce Harper (hamstring) also went on the IL on Friday. Groin tightness forced the 31-year-old left-handed-hitting Schwarber out of Thursday night's loss to the visiting Miami Marlins early. As one of the elite power hitters in the game, he must be stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy leagues while he heals up. In the meantime with the All-Star break quickly approaching, Nick Castellanos and David Dahl could see more at-bats out of the DH spot for the Phillies until Schwarber is able to return. Schwarber is hitting .250 (75-for-300) on the year with 17 long balls and 49 RBI in 79 games.
