Kyle Busch was not expected to win on Sunday and not many expected him to contend at Darlington. He found a way to inch up the field to a third-place finish a little less than four seconds behind Kyle Larson and more than six seconds off from Martin Truex Jr. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was 16th after Stage 1 but surged up to second after Stage 2. Busch was able to stay close the rest of the way but Larson was too fast for him late as the No. 18 settled back into third place.
