Kody Clemens Increasing His Versatility
3 years agoDetroit Tigers second baseman Kody Clemens has played first base and right field, in addition to the keystone, in July. The 25-year-old has played second base in 23 games, right field for four games and first base for three games for Double-A Toledo. Clemens is increasing his versatility with a crowded infield picture in Detroit and at Triple-A with Isaac Paredes, Zack Short, Niko Goodrum, Harold Castro, Jeimer Candelario, Jonathan Schoop and Willi Castro in the fold. Clemens, the team's No. 13 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is hitting .248 (28-for-113) with six doubles, three triples, three home runs, 12 RBI, 11 walks and 29 strikeouts in 30 games for Toledo this year. The left-handed hitter has started using the whole field more and could develop into a nice utility player for the Tigers eventually.
