Kevin Gausman 2023 MLB Player Outlook: Cheap with High Upside
2 years agoOne of the primary centerpieces of the Toronto Blue Jays rotation, Kevin Gausman, just completed his 10th year of service in the pros. He nearly obtained a Cy Young award with the San Francisco Giants just a year prior, but Gausman was still effective this past season. The 32-year-old molded a 3.35 ERA which is a one-point drop off from last year's campaign. Across 31 starts, the right-hander struck out 205 batters with a 28.3% strikeout rate. One improvement in Gausman was his walk and HR count. He reduced his BB% to a career-low 3.3% and yielded five fewer home runs than last season (15). He continues to play a critical role as the number two arm for John Schneider's rotation. If he makes a few adjustments, it wouldn't be a stretch to bump up his 68.05 ADP.
