Justin Verlander Headed to 15-Day Injured List
Justin Verlander (pectoral) will be placed on the injured list with pectoral discomfort that bothered him in his last start, reports Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area. He wasn't feeling quite ready to make his next scheduled start on Saturday, but the Giants are confident that he will only miss two starts. It's unclear who will take his spot in the rotation, but the Giants do have two starters turned relievers already in the bullpen in Kyle Harrison and Jordan Hicks. Verlander has so far gone 0-3 this year with a 4.33 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 41 strikeouts in 52 innings over his 10 starts in his first year in the Bay Area.
