Justin Jackson Going To Carry The Water?
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Justin Jackson is likely going to be tagged to get plenty of carries on Sunday against the Colts, but it's not clear how many yet. Head coach Anthony Lynn is playing it close to the vest, and if last year is anything to go on, Jackson could see anywhere from seven to 16 carries. Jackson is a solid running back, but without Melvin Gordon, the team's running game suffers from having two change-of-pace backs without a primary to do the dirty work. Jackson did the dirty work once last season and averaged 3.6 YPC. In his other opportunities without Gordon, he bounced from 8.1 YPC to 1.7 YPC. This first game should give owners a little better idea of how this two-headed monster is going to work.
