Junior Caminero 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Can Elite Power Continue at Tropicana Field?
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero's first full MLB season was filled with success. The top prospect smashed 45 home runs with 93 runs scored and 110 RBI, even stealing seven bases when that wasn't a noted piece of his game. Doing so would set the single-season AL record for homers from someone aged 21 or younger. We've known that he swung a big stick, but the Rays playing at George M. Steinbrenner Field for the year took it to another level. While his HR distribution was even at home (22) and away (23), he hit .313 at Steinbrenner and .218 on the road, sporting a 127-point BABIP gap. In fact, his .197 road BABIP was the lowest away mark of all 161 qualified hitters! His home numbers should regress going back to the Trop, but his road stats should enjoy better fortune. He also opened his batting stance up as the season progressed, which helped his fly ball and pull rates improve. There's a legitimate concern over the park switch, but he's still so young with more potential to unlock. On that note, Caminero is projected for 37 HRs, 85 runs, 103 RBI, six steals, and a .272 batting average by ATC.
