Julio Rodriguez Likely To Be Out Beyond 10 Days
5 months agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez (ankle) will be re-evaluated at the 10-day mark after being placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday due to a right high-ankle sprain that he suffered on Sunday while trying to make a leaping grab on the center field wall against the Houston Astros. Rodriguez appears likely to be shut down from baseball activities until Aug. 1, when he's eligible to come off the IL. Initially, the M's were saying that J-Rod avoided a serious injury, but high-ankle sprains can often take a month or longer to recover from, especially at a demanding position like center field. Fantasy managers will need to be patient with the 23-year-old All-Star and keep him stashed in all leagues despite his disappointing 2024 season. For the time being with Rodriguez out, Victor Robles has become Seattle's regular center fielder.
