Josh Rosen's Personality May Clash With Certain Teams
7 years agoUCLA quarterback Josh Rosen may be the most intelligent quarterback in this year's class, and he could even be the consensus most talented overall passer. However, he won't be a personality fit for every team. "To me, he's Jay Cutler and Jeff George. I just can't get past that in my head," a quarterbacks coach said. "I think he's going to do whatever he wants to do. I don't think he's going to listen to anybody. He always thinks he has the better answer, has the better way. Yeah, his film is really good. I just don't think he's going to mesh well with your team and do the things that you want him to do." Some executives like Rosen's smarts and maturity, but it might take the right coach to get the most out of him. Another offensive coordinator is worried that football isn't Rosen's priority, and the fact that Rosen must be challenged in order to excel is a red flag for teams. On pure talent alone, Rosen could easily be selected first overall by the Browns, but his personality is what could cause him to drop within the first 10 picks of Thursday. No matter where he lands, Rosen will be a strong dynasty/keeper selection in 2018.
