Joseph Woll Suffers Significant Lower-Body Injury Thursday
1 year agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll (lower body) left Thursday's game early and is set to miss some time, according to head coach Sheldon Keefe. Woll made an awkward save on a weak shot from the side of the net in the third period and immediately went down. He had to be helped off the ice with what appears to be a leg injury. A timeline won't be known until a full MRI is done, but Woll will miss a decent number of games no matter the result. The 25-year-old rookie will be hard to replace for both the Leafs and fantasy managers, but if Ilya Samsonov is lying around on waivers, he should be picked up, as he is set to get the bulk of the work now. Martin Jones will back up Samsonov and will be a streaming option from time to time.
