Jose Trevino Expected To Return Friday
4 months agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that catcher Jose Trevino (quadriceps) is set to return from the 10-day injured list on Friday, but Austin Wells will continue to get the bulk of the playing time behind the dish. Trevino recently started a minor-league rehab assignment and didn't have any setbacks with a Grade 2 left-quadriceps strain that has kept him out of action in the Bronx since the middle of July. The 31-year-old veteran backstop went 2-for-8 with Double-A Somerset in three rehab games and will return to a .244/.303/.411 slash line when he rejoins the Yankees this weekend. Trevino has added eight home runs and 27 RBI in his 59 games in his third year in New York, but his fantasy appeal is limited to deep two-catcher leagues while he works behind Wells.
