He will now get a shot at the title after joining a championship-caliber squad in the Houston Astros for three years worth $58 million. One unique aspect of Abreu's game is his balanced quantity of raw power and contact. The 36-year-old laced 15 HRs and molded a .446 SLG with the White Sox in 2022. His ability to get on base is paramount to his raw power, which is supported by underlying metrics. Abreu amassed a .378 OPB and finished fourth in hits with 183. He was in the 96th percentile for xwOBA and 97th for hard-hit rate. According to ATC projections, Abreu is expected to compile a .272/.345/.445 slash line with 127 wRC+ and 21 homers in 2023. Based on those projections, the veteran is a solid pick at his current NFBC ADP of 96. Age hasn't hindered Abreu's success, and it's unlikely that he will throw in the towel soon.
