Joe Ryan Excels In Win Over Giants
Joe Ryan let up two hits and one earned run over six innings pitched in Saturday's 2-1 win against the San Francisco Giants. He struck out seven batters and walked none in the quality start, improving to 3-2 on the year. The San Francisco native was stellar in his eighth start, able to retire every batter he faced except Heliot Ramos, who accounted for both hits (single, homer) against him. Otherwise, the 28-year-old was locked in and has now recorded three straight appearances allowing one or fewer earned runs and four straight with one or fewer free passes. He'll carry a sterling 2.74 ERA and 0.87 WHIP (46 innings) with an efficient 54:5 K:BB ratio into his next outing against the Milwaukee Brewers.
