Jordan Sheffield Likely To Return This Year
Jordan Sheffield (lat, shoulder) will likely be back this season, according to manager Bud Black. However, Sheffield isn't expected to return anytime soon after suffering a lat/shoulder strain. The 26-year-old made his major league debut this year and had been holding his own before the injury, posting a 3.26 ERA and 0.98 WHIP while striking out 16 and walking eight in 19 relief appearances over 19 1/3 innings pitched. Sheffield doesn't have any current fantasy appeal, but he's been one of the better arms for a struggling Rockies team. As a Rule 5 selection, the Rockies will have to keep him on the active roster when he returns from his injury or return him to his previous organization.
