Jordan Sheffield Likely To Return This Year
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Jordan Sheffield (lat, shoulder) will likely be back this season, according to manager Bud Black. However, Sheffield isn't expected to return anytime soon after suffering a lat/shoulder strain. The 26-year-old made his major league debut this year and had been holding his own before the injury, posting a 3.26 ERA and 0.98 WHIP while striking out 16 and walking eight in 19 relief appearances over 19 1/3 innings pitched. Sheffield doesn't have any current fantasy appeal, but he's been one of the better arms for a struggling Rockies team. As a Rule 5 selection, the Rockies will have to keep him on the active roster when he returns from his injury or return him to his previous organization.
