Jonathan Schoop Hits 12th Home Run
6 years agoMinnesota Twins second baseman Jonathan Schoop went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 6-5 win over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday. Schoop went deep in the fourth inning off of Seattle right-hander Mike Leake, giving him 12 on the season. The veteran second baseman has been overshadowed a bit by the rest of the explosive Minnesota offense but he is putting together a solid first season in the Twin Cities. Schoop is hitting .246 with a .783 OPS, the 12 homers, 34 runs, 33 RBI, and a steal. He has been slumping over the past two weeks but he provides enough pop at the second base position to remain a quality option in all fantasy formats.
