Joc Pederson Heading To Angels In Trade
5 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels will acquire outfielder Joc Pederson from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for infielder Luis Rengifo, according to sources. With the Dodgers reportedly acquiring Mookie Betts and David Price on Tuesday night, Pederson and Alex Verdugo (heading to Boston) were expendable. Pederson hit .249/.339/.538 with a career-high 36 home runs and 74 RBI in 149 games for Los Angeles last season. His left-handed power stick will be a nice addition to the top of the Halos lineup, but it should be noted that he hit just .224 with no home runs against lefties last season. Whenever Jo Adell comes up to join Mike Trout and Justin Upton in the outfield, Pederson could lose at-bats against lefties. Rengifo hit .238 with seven home runs and 33 RBI in 357 at-bats in 2019 and will be infield depth in his new home.
