Jimmy Garoppolo Could Be Ready After Week 6 Bye
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (calf) is "doing good," and the plan is for him to return to the starting job after the team's Week 6 bye. If healthy, Garoppolo is expected to be the starter in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. Rookie quarterback Trey Lance suffered a knee sprain in his first career start in Week 5 and could be out for one or two weeks. Garoppolo suffered a bruised calf in Week 4 and has thrown for 925 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions so far this season. If neither he nor Lance can play in Week 7, Nate Sudfeld would be forced into a start.
