The New York Jets have requested to interview Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley for their head-coach position. Hafley came to the Packers in 2024 after spending four seasons as the head coach at Boston College. Hafley immediately turned around a talented defensive group for the Packers this season. The Packers finished No. 6 in total yards allowed per game and points allowed per game. He would be an excellent fit for a Jets defense that is full of exciting young talent headlined by cornerback Sauce Gardner. On the Packers' side, losing Hafley would be a large blow to the franchise. He turned this defensive unit into an elite group which helped to carry them to 11 wins and a Wild Card appearance. With the Jets casting such a wide net in their head coach search, they could simply be conducting due diligence.
