4 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Jesse Winker (hip) isn't concerned that he'll miss much time while battling a sore right hip this spring that caused him to be scratched from the Cactus League lineup on Monday and Tuesday. Winker is taking a couple of days off and has the luxury of not battling for a 26-man roster spot in camp. While he'll be a lock for the regular season roster, Winker will be competing with outfielders Shogo Akiyama, Nick Castellanos, Aristides Aquino, Mark Payton and Tyler Naquin for playing time in Cincinnati. The 27-year-old hit .255/.388/.544 with 12 home runs and 23 RBI in 54 games last year and had a slash line of .269/.357/.473 with 16 long balls and 38 RBI in 113 games in his last full season in 2019.
