Jaylen Samuels Expecting Two-Back Approach
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Samuels believes both he and incumbent James Conner will be on the field together often this season. After coming on strong in the latter half of the 2018 season, Samuels has built himself a solid role with the team. The NC State product finished his rookie season with 256 yards on the ground, along with 26 receptions, 199 yards, and three touchdowns through the air. "I'm pretty sure it's going to be something special put into the offense," said Samuels in an interview with ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler. The Steelers typically feature just one back on a given play, but things could change in an effort to keep Conner fresh all season. Samuels is a great handcuff to draft if you own Conner, but he also has some standalone value in PPR formats.
