Javonte Williams To Play 10-12 Snaps Saturday
1 year agoDenver Broncos head coach Sean Payton said that running back Javonte Williams (knee) will play 10 to 12 offensive snaps (maybe three to four carries) in the team's second preseason game this Saturday against the San Francisco 49ers. The rest of the starters are scheduled to see anywhere from 20 to 24 plays. Williams will be making his preseason debut after suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 4 of last year. The 23-year-old has made excellent progress in the offseason and at training camp, so barring a setback during the preseason, he should be ready to rock for Week 1 against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. Backup Samaje Perine is expected to have a bigger role early on next to Williams, but Williams is still an attractive target in fantasy drafts as an RB2/3 with upside.
