Javonte Williams Has RB1 Upside For Sunday Night
1 year agoDenver Broncos running back Javonte Williams looks to finally be getting his legs under him after suffering a season-ending knee injury early last year. The Broncos eased him in early on in 2023, but things have noticeably changed in the last two games, as Williams has 48 rushing attempts for 164 yards (3.42 yards per carry) and has caught all seven targets for 44 yards and his first two touchdowns of the season. All signs point to the Broncos riding him as a bell-cow back in the second half of the season. If he continues to get 20-plus touches a game, the 23-year-old should have RB1 upside in the right matchups. The Minnesota Vikings, Denver's Week 11 opponent, have been above league average in rushing yards allowed per game (323.2) and have also been pretty stingy in terms of fantasy points allowed per game to the position, but fantasy managers can't argue with the increase in workload Williams has seen of late. His arrow is pointing up. Start him.
